摘要：1472981 Sets NORTHERN TELECOM Ltd 1 May 1974 [7 May 1973] 19075/74Heading H4J [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] A dial 40 (Fig. 7) or 60 (Fig. 6) or some othercomponent is supported in a telephone housing 10 by two mountings 12 (Fig. 1) eachcomprising a locating and anchoring member 13 (see Fig. 2), a resilient support andretaining member 14 and a guide 15. Each member 13 comprises a stop portion 19 havinga recess 22 for engaging a projection 65 (Fig. 6) on an L-shaped bracket 41 or 42. Eachguide 15 has a pair of parallel ribs 20 spaced apart to define a channel to receive a baseleg 43 or 47 of a bracket 41 or 42. Each member 13 has an upwardly extending locatingportion 17 above the stop portion 19. The guide 15 may be an extension of member 13.Each resilient support and retaining member 14 comprises a resilient web 23 extendingupwardly and an upper retainer (27) Fig. 4 (not shown) for retaining the bracket 41 or 42on its mounting 12. An end stop 30 is adjacent the member 14. The locating andanchoring member 13 has a side face 25 and the resilient web 23 of the support andretaining member 14 has a side face 24 in a common plane with the side face 25. Thecommon plane is in alignment with an interior side face of the channel of the guide 15 sothat, when located, a planar surface of a bracket 41 or 42 is in contact with all said faces.
The brackets 41, 42 are a pair of opposite hand. They are of L-shaped metal with aportion 45 or 49 displaced from but parallel to the plane of the remainder by a doublebend 46. For supporting a rotary dial 40 (Fig. 7) the brackets 41 and 42 are mounted withthe portions 45 and 49 away from each other and the shanks of screws 54 engageextensions 52 of an aperture 50 for mounting a pushbutton dial 60 (Fig. 6) the brackets41 and 42 are reversed so that the portions 45 and 49 are towards each other and theshanks of screws 61 enter extensions 53 of aperture 50. The whole unit comprising dialand brackets may be easily snapped into or removed from the two mountings 12.Features of the mounting arrangement also form the subject of Specification 1,472,982.
